Welcome to The Salvation Army Community Solar Program. When you enroll, you support the non-profit of your choice. New York has passed a mandate to have the electrical grid powered by 70% renewable energy by 2030 and 100% carbon free by 2040. Community Solar is a key component of New York’s clean energy transition. It allows homeowners, renters, and small businesses to participate without the need to install solar panels on their buildings. There is no cost to participate, subscribers receive a guaranteed 10% savings on bill credits, no cancellation fees with a 90 day notice, no equipment to install and is available to both homeowners and renters. The donation comes from Renewable Access and costs you nothing.
The steps to enroll:
1. Complete the registration form below. This identifies the non-profit that will receive a donation.
2. Once you click the submit button on the registration form, you will be redirected to the enrollment form.
3. The enrollment form will require:
a. Your account information (name, address, phone, email)
b. Upload a copy of your electric bill (either download from your utility account or take a photo of a paper bill-(all pages)
c. Auto-pay information for the bill credits that are posted on your account (bill credits are first posted to your electric bill and paid for 10-15 days after. You paid 90% of the value of the bill credits
d. Docusign your Community Solar subscription agreement
That’s it, your done! You are now going to save on your electric bill through renewable energy bill credits and help support the non-profit of your choice.
